Hot Prospect Sahar Back in Israel Set-up

February 5th, 2009 | By: Ibracadabra | No Comments »

After a difficult loan move from Chelsea to Portsmouth, where he found himself buried on the depth chart behind Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch, Kanu, and David Nugent – and then injured as well – Ben Sahar has found a new lease on life in the Netherlands.

The 19-year old Holon native, still one of Israel’s brightest prospects (along with Barcelona’s Gai Assulin) has been rewarded today as National team manager Dror Kashtan included Sahar in his latest squad.

Sahar, the youngest player ever to score for the Israeli national team, will be looking to impress on his return to the national team set-up.

Israel will play Hungary on Wednesday in Ramat Gan in the country’s last friendly match before the crucial World Cup qualifiers with Greece in March.
